Just in time for Halloween, here’s Lavender Town in Pokémon Let’s Go

Lavender Town, the spookiest location in any Pokémon game, has been shown off for the first time looking better than ever in a new Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee trailer.

Just in time for Halloween, here’s a look at the cursed place where Pokémon are buried – along with a new version of the village’s much-loved spooky music.

Lavender Town is one of the few locations which ever deals with the fact your cute and cuddly Pokémon can actually die. It was an unsettling, standout location in Pokémon Red and Blue – where you could read tragic stories of Pokémon and their trainers parted by death, inscribed on gravestones. It sparked all sorts of playground rumours back when I first played.

Then there was the much-circulated internet creepypasta story about its music – that the chiptune included high-pitched notes only children could hear which caused headaches or nosebleeds.

On a related note, play Pokémon Go after dark tonight and the Lavender Town music – first available last year – has been re-added to the game. And excuse me, I have a nosebleed…
