Square Enix has announced a PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch remake of the PSP remake of the original Star Ocean game.
Star Ocean: First Departure R is a remaster of the 2007 PSP remake of Star Ocean, with new features for PS4 and Switch.
Square Enix’s official Star Ocean Twitter account broke the news alongside a solitary image. That’s all we know for know.

The original Star Ocean was developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix on the Super Famicom in Japan in 1996. In 2007 a PlayStation Portable remake titled Star Ocean: First Departure came out in Japan, then, a year later, in the west. The video below shows off the PSP version.
