The Elder Scrolls: Blades Delayed To 2019

At E3 this past year, Bethesda sandwiched a display of their newest mobile title between Fallout 76 and announcements of future projects. While the placement seemed to try and couch the announcement in the best possible light, Bethesda Games Studios director Todd Howard spent a lot of time showing off the game to present it as a full-featured Elder Scrolls title set to come out in 2018. On the last note at least, Bethesda is moving the mark.

While full-featured, the open world aspect The Elder Scrolls games have been known for is damped down considerably for a more digestible experience. The Elder Scrolls: Blades is also meant to be controlled entirely with one hand using gestures to control all the actions.

The next major Elder Scrolls game, The Elder Scrolls VI, was also revealed at E3 shortly after the segment on Blades. The larger game is not expected for quite a long time, however, as Howard explained that it will be developed after Bethesda Game Studios’ next game, the seemingly sci-fi Starfield.

Bethesda’s latest project, Fallout 76, has not seen much critical or cultural fanfare. You can find our review of the game right here.
