As part of Epic Games Store’s free game giveaways, the store has transitioned to its newest free title, the narrative adventure game What Remains of Edith Finch. Epic announced the game would be coming last week, but you can log into the Epic Games launcher and add it to your library now.
Until January 24, you can grab the game and maybe, someday, even play it! You might like it. We did. So did BAFTA, too!
Epic’s free game giveaway, which the company says they plan to continue bimonthly for a year, is transparently trying to get people to use their nascent storefront over competitive digital distribution platforms. That said, it’s a pretty good way to do it and seems to only provide a benefit to the end consumer who wants to fill out a library with some well-liked games.
Previous free games on the store were hardcore platformer Super Meat Boy and underwater survival game Subnautica.
